Tom Petty Dies Of Cardiac Arrest At 66 In Malibu - Super Bowl XLII Performer Tom Petty, one of my favorite performers of all time, passed away of cardiac arrest today in Malibu. He was just 66 years old. Of all of the music on my all-time playlist, two of his songs are on it: "Free Falling" and "Won't Back Down" - but I have other favorites too: Last Dance With Mary Jane being one big one. I was able to see Tom Petty perform in Super Bowl XLII in Phoenix, pitting the New York Giants against the New England Patriots. Tom Petty lives forever via his music. Stay tuned.
