City of Oakland Never Shared 2014 Coliseum ENA for NFL Raiders Stadium with Lott / Fortress Group - Video

City of Oakland Never Shared 2014 Coliseum ENA for NFL Raiders Stadium with Lott / Fortress Group The conventional wisdom says that the group assembled by San Francisco 49ers and Oakland Raiders NFL Hall of Fame player Ronnie Lott and with Fortress Investments was prvvy to the documents from prior development groups focused on Coliseum City. The Lott / Fortress Group stepped forward with a proposal to build a new Oakland Raiders Stadium, and with provisions for a new ballpark for the Oakland Athletics, as well as office and hotel structures. The most recent version of the plan was presented by Skidmore, Owings, and Merrill on March 24th, during the Oakland Raiders Fans rally. On March 26th, at the NFL Annual Meeting in Phoenix, the NFL voted 31-1 to allow the Oakland Raiders to make plans to relocate to Las Vegas and build a new stadium near The Strip. I thought that plan looked very much like the one formed in 2014 by Bay Development Group, JRDV Urban International, and HKS. So, I went back to dig up the old exclusive negotiating agreement document from that organization, made calls to people involved with Lott / Fortress Group, and discovered the shocking news that they never saw the 2014 ENA document. This is what I was told by one person involved in the negotiations and representing Lott / Fortress “Well, all along we always said the more they could share on past deals, the better: what worked, what didn't, etc. But it was always something where they didn't want to share everything.” And that was the City of Oakland, represented by Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf and Oakland Assistant Chief Adminstrative Officer Claudia Cappio – the latter, the point person for the Oakland Raiders Stadium Project. As of this writing, I have not reached out to the Oakland Mayor for a statement. That means the information that the NFL and the Oakland Raiders, in the representation of President Marc Badain, knew was in existence and had copies of, and came from the City of Oakland, were never at all shared with The Lott / Fortress Group. You can draw your own conclusions from this. Stay tuned.
